Cometa

Cometa is Colectivo Carmelo's music-first room on Córdoba in Roma Norte, and it was clearly built by people who care more about how a night sounds than about who is on the poster. The sound system is the centerpiece — tuned so the low end lands in your chest without flattening the vocals — and the lighting is kept low and warm so the room feels like a party rather than a showcase.

What makes it work is the programming philosophy: atmosphere over lineup. The floor fills late, the selectors are given room to build a set rather than chase peaks, and the crowd is a genuine Roma mix of chilangos, industry people, and visitors who found it through friends. It is the kind of place where you plan to stay an hour and leave three hours later.

Because Cometa shares an address with Selva and Perezoso, the smartest version of the night is a progression: aperitivo and something to eat at Perezoso, a glass of natural wine and a record at Selva, then downstairs into Cometa once the room turns over. Arrive after midnight on weekends for the full effect, check the schedule ahead of time, and plan your ride home in advance.
