This Privacy Notice explains how Otiummedia.com ("Otium Media", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal data when you visit DiscoverCDMX (the "Service"). Otium Media is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by Otiummedia.com, trading as DiscoverCDMX. If you have any questions about this notice or how we handle your data, contact us at adam@otiummedia.com.
2. Personal data we collect
- Contact and account data — name, email address, phone (if provided), venue name, and any information you submit through forms (lead applications, curator applications, AI visibility checks, "Get Verified" requests).
- Communications — messages you send us via email or in-app forms.
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, referrer, IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and general location derived from IP.
- Billing data — collected and processed by our payment provider Paddle (see Section 5). We receive only the information Paddle relays to us (subscription status, plan, and limited customer metadata).
- Cookies and similar technologies — used for essential site function and analytics.
3. How we use personal data
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- To respond to inquiries, applications, and support requests (performance of a contract or our legitimate interests).
- To send transactional emails such as confirmations, receipts, and service notifications.
- To administer subscriptions, verify venue listings, and provide paid features to venue partners.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal basis for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on: (a) performance of a contract with you; (b) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service; (c) your consent (which you can withdraw at any time); and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing your data
We share personal data with the following categories of recipients:
- Payment provider (Merchant of Record). Paddle.com Market Ltd. acts as the Merchant of Record for all paid transactions. Paddle processes payments, subscription billing, invoicing, tax calculation and remittance, refunds, and customer billing inquiries. Paddle's privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that store and serve the Service.
- Analytics and email providers that help us understand usage and deliver transactional emails.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting, tax) when necessary.
- Authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.
6. International transfers
The Service is operated globally and personal data may be transferred to and stored in countries other than your own. Where transfers are made from the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymize it.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. 9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and hosting on reputable infrastructure — to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is 100% secure.

We use essential cookies required to operate the Service and analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notifying you.
